Look what others have said about Jeff Hobson

"Legendary magician Jeff Hobson from the United States acts as the rye Ringmaster with a pocketful of tricks and the energy of Robin Williams."

"....hilarious patter and incredible sleight of hand."

"I remember him from The Illusionists. He’s a terrific magician and a very funny man. Hold onto your watch if he gets anywhere near you, though. He just might, because he comes down into the audience at times looking for victims. He’s a master of diplomacy and sly remarks and he put a smile on my dial every time he appears"

"Jeff Hobson from the United States embodies the Mad Hatter with a show-stealing mix of eccentric charm, mischief, and a magician’s flair. His comedic timing, sleight of hand, and theatrical charisma light up the stage every time he appears—delivering some of the biggest laughs and gasps of the night."

"As with last year’s incarnation, the evening is anchored by the hilarious Jeff Hobson, "The Trickster," his sharp quick-wittedness makes his frequent interactions with audience members priceless. His simple routine involving an egg disappearing and reappearing in a paper bag becomes a high point thanks to his ability to wring endless comic material from his hapless foil.."

"Performer ‘robs’ police chief Saunders of watch!"
Jeff Hobson, who plays the Trickster in the hit Broadway magic show The Illusionists, stole the police chief’s watch Thursday without knowing the real identity of his victim."

"And, finally, acting as the show's connective master of ceremonies as well as provide some of the biggest laughs of the night, the super funny Jeff Hobson---dubbed "The Trickster"---is a delight throughout. In my head, Hobson is the long-lost love child of Paul Lynde, Liberace, Phyllis Diller, and Steve Martin all rolled into one wonderfully bedazzled host. As incredible and extraordinary each of the magic acts were, I found it remarkable that the most enjoyable parts of the evening were the brief moments when the affable host brings much-needed levity to the otherwise by-the-numbers magic showcase. With his mix of old-school tricks and game show host banter with audience members, Hobson could really headline his own show, frankly.”

" Hobson (called "The Trickster"), who introduces the show, does some mild-mannered card tricks, a bit of fire-eating, and gets willing audience participation - for me, at least, he was best, having everybody in stitches with sharp but kind, topical, venue-appropriate (meaning "San Francisco," very much in quotes), mostly improvised humor. I cannot recall the last variety show where I awaited eagerly the return of the MC.”

" Keeping the show moving was my favorite of the five Illusionist, Jeff Hobson known as the Trickster. His flamboyant persona shined even more than his glittery suit jacket and shoes. If the Trickster was thought of as good at magic than he was even better at impromptu comedy. His back and forth banter and hip gyrations with an audience member named Joe stole the show. The Trickster did the signed card trick, but this time spit it out of his mouth. He also had this hilarious monologue on fashion puns while ripping a thread to shreds and then miraculously mending it back. At the end of the show he revealed something that I never caught during the show. He had in his pocket the three watches of the three volunteers that he called up. Yes, he is definitely the Tricker and the star of the show..”
